There is also curiosity around him for the right reasons. After all, he has had a pretty exceptional journey building Zerodha, the largest platform for stock brokers in India. Not many know that he is an avid reader too. Despite his busy schedule, he managed to read 4 books or at least that’s what appears from his social profile on Instagram.

While scouting for Influencers to watch out for in 2022, we came across Nikhil’s profile. We couldn’t help but scroll through and we found 4 very interesting books that Nikhil has read in the past year. Nikhil Kamath Zerodha is synonymous to the spirit of starting up in India. He is the poster boy of entrepreneurship in India. Also, if Nikhil with his busy schedule can find time to read, we all can find time to read too.

1. When Genius Failed

Nikhil adds, “Will always pick experience without theory over theory without experience. This book talks about how the smartest people on the planet got together to theorize stock investing and lost everything. Research the product/company, ignore the noise(people, marketing, branding, advertising). Really easy read, the story kinda thing, no maths, etc :)”

2. The Psychology of Money

Nikhil Kamath says that it’s a good book, very easy read, first half applies to all the people who ‘ve gotten lucky in life and the 2nd part to the ones who haven’t.

Basically, this book is for everyone to read. It is also a best seller on Amazon and that says a lot.

3. Caste

Nikhil quips caste like the world ain’t got enough issues already. It’s a good book. P.S. can picture my brahmin ancestors turning in their graves🙏. He rated the book a 7 on 10.

We’d say it’s an interesting choice of subject but very relevant considering the times we are living in. Wish he had given a detailed review of the book.

Here’s what Oprah Winfrey had to say about the book, “Required reading for all of humanity”.

Haunting yet strangely consoling, in a world defined by its divide, Caste connects – Johny Pitts

4. The Denial Of Death

According to Nikhil Kamath Zerodha, “Book of the year for me, so at 34, a fair estimate is I have 36 years left. (Avg lifespan 70). So easy to forget the finite nature of life, if u were to live backward with awareness of how much time(approx) is left, what would you change?”
